e At Fraser Valley Tai Chi, we offer extensive training in the traditional art of Tai Chi Chuan. Students have the opportunity to begin with the traditional forms and then move on to the open hand system and weapons. For beginner Tai Chi students, our program starts only twice a year, in late January and early September. So give us a call for more information about registration.
e Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient art that is practiced very slowly and gently. It enables people of all ages to enjoy its vast health benefits, which include improved balance and memory, enhanced flexibility and strength, and increased alertness. It is also a very complex and sophisticated form of self defence that helps one become calm and composed.
e Tom has been studying the Traditional Yang Style of Tai Chi Chuan under Master-Sifu Howard Ketola (pictured left with Grand Master Raymond Chung and Tom) since 1994. Master Ketola has given Tom permission to teach the Yang Style System in the Abbotsford/Fraser Valley area. He has been doing so since 2001. Tom believes this to be a great honour and privilege which he takes very seriously.
e Tom is also a Medical Exercise Specialist and has many other certifications that are recognised in the fitness industry. With his goal of helping others help themselves, Tom believes there is no better way than through the study of Tai Chi Chuan, which translates to "The Supreme Ultimate."
